Description
A lyrical and deeply graceful rendering of a female druid (or “druidesse†as written at the bottom of the piece) by French costume designer Suzanne Lecoconnier, c. 1925. Druids were members of the learned class among the ancient Celts. Using pastel and pencil, Lecoconnier represents this druidesse in a flowing white gown, with a green head wreath and gently cascading golden hair.
